Jamaica is another dark brown clay besides black mountain. They are very similar in that they both fire to a dark brown and create speckles. Jamaica clay tends to create a dark shade in the glazes. For example, the toasty brown region of the glaze here is matte white over Jamaica. The reason why the white is more prominent on one side is because I dipped a second layer of matte white.
