These super thin plates are really difficult to glaze because they quickly saturate with water when you glaze. Thus, there isn't a thick enough layer of glaze that catches onto the bisque. I had to glaze multiple times with many hours of drying in between. I love the rusting highlights look that occurs where thin spots result.
There was no sign of this air bubble until after the glaze fire! It's HUGE! This makes me want to figure out how to make these fun air bubbles occur more often. Unfortunately, that isn't a project worth exploring because I could cause explosions in the kiln ruining other work.
Firing: High fire reduction
Clay: Coleman porcelain
