I practiced this particular raised outer edge design to make a custom set of plates for a friend. It was really difficult to master because it can flop over easily. Also, if the plate wasn't perfectly centered at the outer rim, then I wouldn't be able to create the tiny few mm" thick edge detail at the end of the raised edge. It took me over a year to finish the custom set of plates =)!
